$55 for one (1) tea party ticket

 

Join us on Sunday, October 22nd for a botanical lolita fashion and EGA brunch hosted in the Hyatt Place Durham Hotel.

Tickets will go live on Saturday, August 5th, 12 PM EST. Please note that tickets are limited and first-come-first-serve. If tickets sell out, please sign up for the wait-list – we will contact you via email about any open spots due to cancellations.

Up to two tickets can be purchased at once. If purchasing more than one ticket, please be ready to enter the name (and any dietary restrictions) of the second attendee at time of purchase. Attendance is limited to those 16 years of age and older.

Dress Code

The recommended dress code for this tea party is lolita fashion or Elegant Gothic Aristocrat. Any plus-ones are welcome to attend in formal attire.

Since the theme of this year’s event is Poison Garden, we encourage all attendees to seek inspiration from the natural world by wearing coordinates featuring flora or foliage. When in doubt, gothic themes are always a great choice.

No costumes or cosplay, please.

Coordinate Contest

We will be hosting a coordinate contest during the tea party with prizes donated by our generous participating vendors. Winners will be determined via anonymous vote, so dress to impress your fellow tea party attendees!

Tea Party covid-19 policy

All tea party attendees must be fully vaccinated, and must provide proof of vaccination and ID at the door. "Fully vaccinated" means that at least two weeks have passed after receiving the second dose of a vaccination series. Boosters are not required, but strongly recommended.

We are not allowing negative COVID-19 tests or medical or personal exemptions instead of being vaccinated.

Both physical and digital proof of vaccination, like a verification app, will be accepted. Attendees under the age of 18 are not required to show ID, but must still display proof of vaccination to attend. (As a reminder, attendees must be at least 16 years of age or older.)

Lastly, please bring a face mask and wear it when not actively eating or drinking. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep fellow attendees and event staff safe!

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations may be made up to seven (7) days before the event (10/22/23). The Eventbrite fee portion of the ticket price is non-refundable - it will not be returned to the ticket buyer unless the entire event is canceled, or if the buyer requests a refund for a duplicate charge within 7 days of purchase.

There are no transfers of tickets for this event. If you realize you are unable to attend after the cancellation period has passed, please contact us directly! While we cannot issue a refund, your seat can still be made available to someone on our waitlist.

The meal will be served buffet-style. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Please make a note of your dietary restrictions or food allergies on the registration form and we will try our best to accommodate your needs.

  • Tea Sandwiches (vegetarian available)

    • Assortment of tarragon chicken salad, egg salad (vegetarian), pimento cheese (vegetarian), and tuna salad; served on mini croissants

  • Fruit Salad (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free)

    • Includes pineapples, cantaloupe, honeydew, grapes and seasonal berries

Entrée (choose one)

  • Baked Penne (vegetarian, gluten-free; vegan option available by request)

    • Penne pasta tossed with scratch-made marinara, topped with mozzarella and baked to a golden brown

  • Shepard Pie (gluten-free)

    • Mixture of corn, peas, onions and carrots, topped with buttery mashed potatoes

Sides

  • Mixed Green Salad (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free)

    • Spring mix, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes and red onions; served with house-made ranch and balsamic on the side

Dessert

  • Pumpkin Pie (vegetarian)

  • Cookies (gluten-free available)

  • Cake (vegan)

Beverages

  • Tea, coffee, soda, water

 

Tea Party Schedule

12:00 PM

  • Guests may start to check in for the tea party. Please have your proof of vaccination and ID ready to present to event staff.

  • After check-in, guests may get photos taken by our event photographers.

1:00 PM

  • Food service begins. Attendees will be called up for food first by dietary restriction, then by table.

1:00 - 3:00 PM

  • Dining and socializing

2:00 PM

  • Last call for coordinate photos

3:00 PM

  • Social games and coordinate contest voting

4:00 PM

  • Announcement of contest winners, and general event announcements.
